Domaine du Bois Mignon - Saumur in Loire Valley

Le Domaine du Bois Mignon was founded in 1907 by André Beduit . His grand- son Gilbert Charier with his wife Louisette after heading a hospital in Paris , took over the property in 1973. Gilbert Charier did a lot for the area and especially for the designation by serving on the Chamber of Agriculture of Vienna. Today is his son Pascal Barillot who heads the 30-hectare vineyard . The estate makes Saumur Champigny , Saumur Rouge, Saumur Blanc, Crement de Saumur , Cabertnet de Saumur and Coteaux de Saumur. The two main grape varieties are the Cabernet Franc for the red and the Chenin for the White, because it develops very well with the climate and the terroir of Saumur.

The Humpiot is like the Jurade at St Emilion.
